Curricular Activities

This section of our School is amongst the largest parts of our curriculum. We use co-curricular activities to harness the creative talent of young ones. For this purpose, the school has an organised and dynamic infrastructure for active participation in literary and sociocultural activities such as:-

  • Writing

  • Sketching

  • Gardening

  • Cartooning

  • Debate

  • Group Discussion

  • Dancing

  • Music

  • Drama

These activities are very important from the point of "Total development" of a child which is the central theme of our philosophy.

Children are guided in their chosen fields of interest by highly qualified and experienced teachers/artists. The school also organizes seminars and competitions at different levels to encourage the competitive spirit amongst the children. There is a Fine Arts Studio in the school for learning clay modeling, painting etc.

The House System

Golden Public School has divided its students into four houses viz.

  • Agni : The sacred fire which purifies everything which comes in its contact.
  • Prithvi : The base of all the creations of Almighty God.
  • Vyom : The vast blue sky believed to be the abode of God.
  • Salil : One of the most vital gifts of Mother Nature for all living creatures and vegetation.

Each house is headed by a house master/mistress and a team of teachers. This unique system develops co-operation, mutual understanding trust and organizational skills. It also teaches team spirit and creates an atmosphere of healthy competition in various fields. A running trophy is instituted for the over all best performance of the house.

Camps & Trips

The School organises camps and trips frequently to different places of the Country. These trips act not only as excursions but also as educational classes where students learn about different things like: -

  • Parts of the country

  • Culture of different parts of India

  • The flora and fauna in different geographical conditions of India.

The house names are based on mountain ranges of the Indian Sub Continent. This system spreads the non-academic activities of the school to the grass roots levels.

The School arranges a major inter school camp every summer. The camp is known as 'personality development' camp and many schools are invited to take part.

This camp is specifically targeted at bringing out the hidden talents of children and to give them a brief glimpse of the society. The camp emphasises on making students socially interactive as they will meet children from different parts of the country. This experience takes away any shyness in a child and helps him/ her to become friendly with other students. The camp is joint effort by several institutes and is held at the school campus itself.

Competitions

Golden Public School has various societies/clubs that are organized by student themselves under the supervision of staff advisors. They are regularly sent for inter School, State and National Level Competitions. Experts are also invited on Short-term basis to organize workshops in various fields.
